What is Two Roads Theatre Project all about?

Two Roads Theatre Project offers high-quality educational opportunities in the art of acting.  We teach acting to students of all ages and backgrounds in order to develop transferable skills that will last a lifetime as well as to cultivate the artistry of those who are interested in pursuing this art form in higher education and beyond.

1) Adult Public Speaking Class

Dates: February 22nd - April 12th, 2019 (Fridays)

Build skills and gain confidence speaking in front of an audience!  In this 8-week course, participants will cultivate public speaking and communication ability via the application of helpful techniques rooted in the art of acting.  Emphasis will be placed on strengthening both verbal and non-verbal expression, as well as the using of your own individual personality and style to share your message or talk.   There will be an informal showing of your work to an invited audience on the last day of class!

Location

Classes will meet at the Glenwood Dance Studio.  The address is 7017 North Glenwood Avenue, a creative space located in the heart of Rogers Park’s Glenwood Art District. The location is just steps away from the Morse stop (on the Red Line).

2) Adult Acting Class: Scene Study

Dates: February 21st - April 11th, 2019 (Thursdays)

Instructor: Audra Blaser

Level:  Beginner - Intermediate

Explore the art of acting through scene work!  In this class, participants will have the opportunity to delve into scenes from contemporary plays.  Using this material, we will learn acting techniques to bring the material to life and strengthen key aspects of the craft, such as an ability to be in-the-moment and characterization.  Emphasis will be placed on the ideas of Stanislavsky.  Discover your potential in the art of acting, cultivate new skills, as well as have fun, in a supportive, creative, and non-competitive environment!  Actors and non-actors alike are welcome!

Location

Classes will meet at Pendulum Space.  The address is 1803 West Byron Street (2nd floor, Suites 215-216), a secure building dedicated to educational and art class facilities.  Pendulum Space includes three studios and an adjacent lobby, and is conveniently located close to the Ravenswood, Lincoln Square, and North Center neighborhoods.
