What is Two Roads Theatre Project all about?

Two Roads Theatre Project offers high-quality educational opportunities in the art of acting.  We teach acting to students of all ages and backgrounds in order to develop transferable skills that will last a lifetime as well as to cultivate the artistry of those who are interested in pursuing this art form in higher education and beyond.

1) Adult Acting Class: Acting for the Non-Actor

Dates: September 28th - December 7th, 2018 (Fridays);

Note: This class is now full but please do check out the Scene Study class below- we still have some space left but it is filling up quickly!

This class is for community members who would like to learn professional techniques of acting in a supportive, non-competitive, and fun environment!  The curriculum includes exercises from a variety of acting methods (including Stanislavsky, Hagen, and Chekhov) as well as monologue work.  In addition, emphasis is placed on how these acting techniques simultaneously develop transferable skills, such as presence, creativity, and confidence with public speaking.

    Classes will meet at the Glenwood Dance Studio in the Rogers Park neighborhood.  The address is 7017 North Glenwood Ave.  The beautiful space is dedicated to artistic classes and is conveniently located off of the Morse Red Line stop (intersection of Glenwood and Lunt).



2) Adult Acting Class: Scene Study

Dates: September 29th - November 17th, 2018 (Saturdays)

Instructor: Audra Blaser


Level:  Beginner - Intermediate

Explore the art of acting through scene work!  In this class, participants will have the opportunity to delve into scenes from contemporary plays.  Using this material, we will learn acting techniques to bring the material to life and strengthen key aspects of the craft, such as an ability to be in-the-moment and characterization.  Emphasis will be placed on the ideas of Stanislavsky.  Discover your potential in the art of acting, cultivate new skills, as well as have fun, in a supportive, creative, and non-competitive environment!  Actors and non-actors alike are welcome!

Classes will meet at Pendulum Space.  The address is 1803 West Byron Street (2nd floor, Suites 215-216), a secure building dedicated to educational and art class facilities.  Pendulum Space includes three studios and an adjacent lobby, and is conveniently located close to the Ravenswood, Lincoln Square, and North Center neighborhoods.
